Conmebol takes a stance on Fifa's plans
CONMEBOL has joined other football confederations in expressing caution and opposition toward FIFA's now-canceled private investment proposal. The organization emphasized that while commercial decisions are necessary, they must not override the fundamental essence of the sport.

All that remained was Conmebol's stance on the controversial private investment proposal raised by FIFA — which the governing body ultimately canceled .
In a statement titled " Football First ," the body that runs South American football said it had called a meeting with the ten associations to analyze and assess the proposal.
Before that, however, it stressed that " the development of football requires commercial and financial decisions. However, such decisions must always serve football and never override its essence ."
Conmebol also requested additional information from FIFA about the collapsed project.
And it assured that " it will continue to act with prudence, responsibility and a spirit of collaboration, contributing to the strengthening of world football. "
According to reporting by ge , the expectation was that the CBF would reject the proposal.
