The Congress has submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant (Lt.) Governor seeking his intervention in conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment study before commencing the project to establish the Centre for Trauma care & Rehabilitation with air ambulance facility and Centre for Organ Transplant at Sedarapet.
Congress legislator representing Ossudu constituency P. Karthikeyan in a memorandum said the proposed project by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research was close to the Ousteri lake. The lake was declared a protected bird sanctuary a few years ago. The setting up of the facility with air ambulance would cause disturbance to the ecologically sensitive area, the memorandum said.
