Congress, BJP responsible for defections in country: BRS

Senior leader of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former MP B. Vinod Kumar termed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders comments on defections as ‘devils quoting scriptures and ghosts chanting/reciting vedic hymns’ and condemned their allegations against BRS.

Suggesting BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay to look back into their party affairs encouraging defections and the history of defections in the country, the BRS leader said people were well aware as to who had been encouraging the defections by using all sorts of tactics.

In a statement, Mr. Vinod Kumar said on Friday that according to a report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) 111 elected representatives MPs and MLAs had defected to BJP and its alliance partners and to the Congress. It was the Congress and BJP that could be held responsible for encouraging political defections in the country.
