NEW DELHI: A complaint has been filed with National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), seeking independent inquiry into the alleged police “brutality” on July 20 against students protesting over the NEET-UG exam paper leak issue here, including allegations of misconduct by male police personnel against female students.Congress member and advocate Virender Vashist in the complaint also urged the commission to look into allegations that protesting students, who were exercising their fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution, were subjected to “excessive and disproportionate use of force by police”.“The incident has caused widespread concern among students, parents, and members of civil society.
