Commuters question re-routing of TNSTC buses operated between Gandhipuram and Anaikatti

The travelling public have urged the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Coimbatore Ltd., to adhere to the route specified for the buses plying between Anaikatti and Gandhipuram.
There are five services that are supposed to be operated between Gandhipuram and Anaikatti via Jail Road, Marakkadai Flyover, Poo Market, Gandhi Park, and Lawley Road.
However, there is an uncertainty since the buses skip this route and take the route along 100 Feet Road, Vadakovai and R.S. Puram, purportedly depending on the traffic conditions in the Marakkadai area.
“This is not justified as passengers at the stops that are skipped are denied the scope to avail themselves of the utility of free bus passes,” Ramesh, a social worker, and a regular commuter, said.
