The Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation is hosting a fundraising event in Port Hope to support breast cancer awareness and modernize local health services. The event features personal stories from survivors and aims to fund new medical equipment, including a 3D mammography unit.
Why it matters
Community-led health initiatives are essential for funding specialized medical technology in regional areas.
Community members are invited to come together for an inspiring evening dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, and empowering individuals and families affected by breast cancer.
Taking place Wednesday, October 7 from 6:00p.m.-9:00p.m. at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope, Stronger Together: Stay ABreast will feature powerful stories from local individuals who have experienced breast cancer: from the uncertainty of diagnosis and treatment to the resilience of survivorship. Tickets are now on sale through the Capitol Theatre’s website for $55 per person.
Featured speakers Jennifer, who is currently undergoing treatment, and Sandy, a breast cancer survivor, will share their personal journeys, offering hope, encouragement, and connection to others affected by the disease. Their stories will be complemented by healthcare and wellness professionals who will share information about breast health services, resources, and supports available throughout every stage of the breast cancer journey.
