Community dialogue highlights women’s leadership in public education
A community dialogue in Mysuru brought together women leaders to discuss strengthening their roles in public education and local governance. The event focused on empowering women to participate in decision-making and ensuring equal opportunities for students.

A programme titled “Community Education Dialogue” was held at Ambedkar Bhavan in Varuna village on the outskirts of Mysuru on Thursday to recognise and strengthen women’s leadership in the public education system.
A discussion on the ‘Strength of an Empowered Women’s Society’ at the programme focused on issues including the role of women in ensuring equal opportunities for girls and boys within their families.
According to the organisers, the discussion also covered the role of women in speaking up confidently on community issues and participating in decision-making, ways to strengthen women’s leadership in SDMCs, Gram Panchayats and other local forums, and the changes women leaders seek to bring about in education at the community level.
