Common dizziness drug class shows promise for treating vestibular migraine

A new study published in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery suggests that a class of medications called gepants may effectively treat vestibular migraine. These drugs, which block CGRP, offer an alternative for patients who cannot use injectable treatments.
Why it matters
Vestibular migraine is a common but underdiagnosed cause of vertigo; finding effective, non-injectable treatments could significantly improve quality of life for many patients.
