Committee formed to ensure HIL’s continuation

The Indian Sports Ministry has formed a seven-member committee to resolve governance and financial issues within the Hockey India League. The move follows internal leadership friction and the postponement of Hockey India elections.

The Sports Ministry has constituted a seven-member committee to work out the modalities of the governance structure and way forward to ensure the continuation of the Hockey India League.
Headed by former Odisha sports secretary and currently joint secretary (Khelo India) R. Vineel Krishna as the government’s representative, the committee includes Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey, secretary general Bholanath Singh and treasurer Sekar J. Manoharan among others. The three representatives named from among the HIL franchises are JSW Sports CEO Divyanshu Singh, SG Pipers’ CEO Mahesh Bhupathi and Hyderabad Toofans’ owner Alok Sanghi.
