Colts agree to trade Quenton Nelson to Seahawks

The Indianapolis Colts have traded star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for two future draft picks. The move comes as the Colts enter a rebuilding phase following the firing of their general manager.
Why it matters
This trade significantly impacts the offensive line depth for the Seahawks as they pursue a playoff run, while signaling a major roster shift for the Colts.
Guard Quenton Nelson was at the center of speculation about a possible Colts fire sale and the team has decided to move the longtime centerpiece of their offensive line.
Per multiple reports, they have agreed to trade Nelson to the Seahawks. The Seahawks will send a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick back to Indianapolis.
Nelson was the sixth-overall pick in 2018 and he was a first-team All-Pro in each of his first three seasons. He’s also a three-time second-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowler, but he’s in the final year of his contract and the Colts are in rebuilding mode after firing General Manager Chris Ballard last week.
