College principal arrested for cheating man of ₹2 crore
A private college principal in Erode, Tamil Nadu, has been arrested for allegedly cheating a professor of ₹2 crore. The accused promised to secure a government job for the professor's wife in exchange for the payment.

The Namakkal District Crime Branch (DCB) on Thursday arrested the principal of an Erode-based private college for allegedly cheating a man of ₹2 crore.
According to the police, the accused, Suresh Kumar (45) of Veerappansathram in Erode district, promised Manickavasagan, a resident of Pudansandhai and a government college professor, that he would arrange for a TNPSC member post for Manickavasagan’s wife in return for ₹2 crore. Manickavasagan believed the promise and paid the amount.
Manickavasagan later realised that he was cheated and lodged a complaint with the DCB, which registered a case and, on Thursday, arrested Suresh Kumar.
