Collector launches WhatsApp-based spot acknowledgement system for Aavin milk procurement in Madurai

Madurai District Collector Nishanth Krishna launched a digital initiative for Aavin milk procurement, introducing WhatsApp-based spot acknowledgement slips and automated updates for Primary Cooperative Milk Producers’ Societies. This pilot project aims to enhance transparency, traceability, and ensure quality-based enhanced procurement prices reach milk producers directly.

In an effort toward complete transparency and accountability in dairy farming, Madurai District Collector Nishanth Krishna inaugurated a digital initiative to monitor milk procurement process here on Monday.
The district administration, in collaboration with Aavin and the Department of Dairy Development, rolled out a pilot project that introduces spot acknowledgement slips and automated WhatsApp updates for Primary Cooperative Milk Producers’ Societies.
The initiative fulfills the legislative announcement made by the Minister for Milk and Dairy Development C. Vijayalakshmi.
Designed to establish an end-to-end automated framework from dairy farms to the final procurement stage, the system significantly enhances traceability and ensures that operations remain clear and verifiable at every level, said officials.
