Collector inspects spot where speeding bus killed couple

District Collector Anand Mohan has sternly warned that private buses that violate the speed limit of 30 km within Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai would lose their permit besides getting confiscated.
The Collector inspected on Friday the spot at Vannarpet in Palayamkottai where a couple was crushed to death by a speeding private bus a few days ago.
After the inspection, Mr. Anand Mohan said the district administration, in consultation with the police and transport officials, had made arrangements for monitoring traffic rule violations by the government and the private buses. All the buses, while traversing the city limits, should be operated at 30 km speed and the buses violating this norm would lose their route permit besides getting seized.
