Collector calls for eco-friendly Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations
Nandyal District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya is promoting eco-friendly Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations by distributing clay idols and encouraging home-based immersion. The initiative aims to reduce water pollution caused by Plaster of Paris and chemical paints.

District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya has urged the public to plant a sapling in the vessel or pot in which the clay idol of Ganesh will be immersed after the Vinayaka Chaturthi festivities, fulfilling their responsibility towards environment protection.
Nandyal district administration and the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) have jointly distributed 3,000 clay Ganesh idols for free across the district to raise public awareness about environmental protection. Ms. Rajakumari Ganiya personally distributed the clay idols to the public at the Revenue Clinic located near the PGRS building at the Collectorate on Sunday.
