Collector asks medical and health department officials to monitor seasonal diseases

Srikakulam Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar on Friday (July 17, 2026) asked the Medical and Health Department to monitor seasonal diseases carefully as viral fevers and malaria cases were being reported in several places.

In a press release, he said that all the officials and staff concerned were directed to take up a door-to-door survey to identify fever cases and take remedial measures immediately. He said that 2,93,561 houses were covered under the survey, and other houses would be covered very soon.

“Mosquito breeding centres needed to be removed to prevent the spread of viral fevers. Every Friday must be observed as a ‘Dry Day’. It is the best option to protect everyone from viral fevers. Every individual family must give top priority to cleanliness in and around their vicinity. The government would also take equal steps to prevent spread of diseases,” said Mr. Swapnil.
