S. Sathiyaseela, a resident of Pachapalayam near Perur, was arrested based on a complaint lodged by a 34-year-old woman from Tiruvottiyur in Chennai.
The complainant stated that she and her husband, who got married 12 years ago, decided to adopt a child as they did not have one. She alleged that Sathiyaseela, who runs a stationery store at Ramanathapuram in Coimbatore, promised to arrange a female child and a male child from an orphanage in Chennai in September this year.
