Shooters representing the Coimbatore Rifle Association won 168 medals, including 81 gold, at the 51st State-Level Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championship held at the Guru Nanak College Training Centre from July 27 to August 7.

More than 2,000 shooters from over 82 rifle clubs across 32 districts participated in the championship in the 10m, 25m and 50m categories.

The association’s rifle team won 83 medals — 40 gold, 18 silver and 25 bronze — while the pistol team secured 85 medals — 41 gold, 28 silver and 16 bronze.

The pistol team also won the Overall Championship title for the third consecutive year.
