The Coimbatore Medical College Global Doctors Alumni Association (CMCGDAA) distributed scholarships to 25 students of the Coimbatore Medical College at its third annual general body meeting held here on August 9.

Under the scholarship project, educational expenses of economically underprivileged students will be covered through donations from the alumni worldwide, Ramakrishnan and Padmavathy Medical Scholarship Trust from Udumalpet and C. Palanivelu, chairman of Gem Hospital, Coimbatore.

Under a new programme initiated by the association from this year, best outgoing students in each of eight subjects in the first three years of MBBS were identified and cash awards and certificates were distributed to them.
