Coimbatore doctor accused of ‘embezzling’ ornaments worth several crore of rupees

A doctor in Coimbatore has been arrested by the City Crime Branch for allegedly embezzling 900 sovereigns of gold jewellery from his father-in-law. The accused had been entrusted with locker keys by his father-in-law but failed to return the majority of the gold upon request.

The City Crime Branch (CCB-Coimbatore) on Saturday arrested a doctor for allegedly embezzling about 900 sovereigns of jewellery worth several crore of rupees from his father-in-law. The accused was identified as M. Vignesh (30), a resident of Jothipuram near Periyanaickenpalayam.
The CCB booked Vignesh, his mother M. Vasuki and his sister M. Jeevitha on July 3 this year for criminal breach of trust and two other offences, based on a complaint lodged by S. Shanmugapandian (67), a real estate businessman of Ganapathi Maanagar.
