The Coimbatore District (Rural) Police on Sunday (July 12, 2026) launched ‘Nizhal’, a QR code-based platform that allows the public to report crimes to the police or seek police intervention anonymously.
The district Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar inaugurated the platform, which is aimed at strengthening public safety, preventive policing, and faster police response during emergencies.
The platform operates with a QR code, which will be displayed in a phased manner at important public places across the district, including bus stands, railway stations, bus waiting shelters, schools, colleges, hospitals, commercial complexes, industries, government offices, parks, tourist destinations and places where public gather in large numbers.
