An awareness video developed using artificial intelligence by Coimbatore Corporation to explain the four-bin waste segregation system under the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, has been gaining traction among the public.
The video presents a conversation between a schoolgirl and her grandmother, through which the four-bin system is explained in a simple, visual manner. The schoolgirl explains what type of waste should go into each bin, including wet waste such as food and kitchen waste, dry waste such as paper, plastic and other recyclables, sanitary waste such as used diapers and sanitary pads, and special care waste such as batteries, e-waste and other household hazardous waste.
“The video was developed by Coimbatore Corporation and was later modified so that it could be used for awareness campaigns across the State,” an official said.
