Coimbatore Corporation plans improvements to amenities at Race Course

Coimbatore Corporation is planning to take up measures to improve and maintain basic amenities, including toilets and the children’s play area, at the Race Course walking track.
The move follows a recent inspection of the walking track by Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampath Kumar, who directed the Corporation to take up repair and maintenance works at the facility.
Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja also inspected the toilet and the surface parking facility near the Thomas Park junction and instructed officials to ensure that the facilities were maintained properly.
Officials said saplings had been planted around the parking facility as part of efforts to improve its surroundings. The one-acre facility, located behind the 108 Vinayagar Temple near Thomas Park junction, was constructed by the Corporation at a cost of ₹99 lakh and can accommodate around 120 cars.
