The Coimbatore Corporation has intensified its anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) drive for stray dogs, with around 700 dogs vaccinated in the city on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as part of its efforts to achieve a rabies-free status by 2030.
The special vaccination camp was held in Wards 36, 37 and 38 in the West Zone and Wards 8 and 54 in the East Zone. The Corporation has estimated that there are 1,11,074 stray dogs within its limits, and around 8,000 have been vaccinated so far this month.
