Coimbatore Corporation gets 43 battery-operated waste collection vehicles through CSR
The Coimbatore Corporation has received 43 new battery-operated waste collection vehicles from Leap Green Energy as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. These vehicles, valued at ₹86 lakh, are designed to enhance door-to-door collection and source segregation of solid waste, equipped with four color-coded bins for different waste types. This addition increases the Corporation's fleet to 168 battery-operated vehicles, strengthening urban waste management.

The Coimbatore Corporation has received 43 battery-operated vehicles from Leap Green Energy under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to strengthen door-to-door collection and source segregation of solid waste.
The vehicles were handed over to the Corporation in the presence of Backward Classes Welfare Minister V. Sampath Kumar on Saturday (September 19, 2026). The vehicles, together valued at ₹86 lakh, were provided to the Corporation under the company’s CSR initiative.
The vehicles have been provided with four separate bins for the collection of wet waste, dry waste, sanitary waste and special-care waste, in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, to facilitate segregation at source during door-to-door collection.
The bins are colour-coded, with green for wet waste, blue for dry waste, red for sanitary waste and black for special-care waste.
