Coimbatore Corporation collects ₹306.80 crore in property tax since April

The Coimbatore Corporation has collected over ₹306 crore in property tax for the 2026-27 fiscal year, with a significant portion processed through digital payment channels. The civic body is actively working to resolve technical issues related to its online payment software.

The Coimbatore Corporation has collected ₹306.80 crore in property tax between April 1 and October 4, 2026, as part of its revenue mobilisation for the 2026-27 financial year.
The Corporation has 5,97,963 property tax assessments across its 100 wards in five zones. Property tax yields the civic body an annual revenue of ₹523.10 crore.
The Corporation’s intensified collection drive brought in ₹46.63 crore from 47,728 taxpayers in September alone. On September 30, ₹4.87 crore was collected from 4,915 taxpayers.
Digital channels accounted for ₹138.81 crore of the total property tax collection since April. Online payments constituted the bulk of this amount at ₹134.50 crore, followed by ₹3.86 crore through the Electronic Clearing Service (ECS), ₹44 lakh through the Corporation’s mobile application and ₹2 lakh through card transactions.
