Coimbatore district officials have urged residents to contact designated help centers if they have been missed by enumerators during the first phase of the 2027 Census. The administration provided a comprehensive list of contact numbers for rural, municipal, and town panchayat areas.
Why it matters
Accurate census data is vital for government planning, resource allocation, and public service delivery.
Coimbatore District Collector and Principal Census Officer Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar has urged residents to cooperate with enumerators conducting the first phase of Census 2027 through house-to-house digital data collection. The exercise will conclude on August 30.
For the rural areas of the district, tahsildars of 10 taluks, excluding Coimbatore South, have been designated as Census charge officers. Commissioners of seven municipalities and executive officers of 33 town panchayats have also been appointed as charge officers.
