The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Monday demanded that the new super-specialty hospital building being constructed near MGM Hospital in Warangal be completed and opened to the public by December 31, warning that it would organise a ‘Maha Dharna’ in Warangal if the deadline is not met.
The demand came during a visit by a CJP delegation to MGM Hospital following an incident on Sunday in which concrete chunks fell from the ceiling inside the Arogyasri ward, leaving three in-patients injured.
CJP South Zone in-charge and National Media Head Vijay Mallangi, who led the delegation, said the government must ensure that the new hospital building is fully equipped with the required medical facilities before opening it to the public. The party also called for an immediate comprehensive safety inspection of the existing hospital building and repairs to structures found to be hazardous.
