Coalition still in position to form government in new Taxpayers' Union Curia poll
A new Taxpayers' Union Curia poll shows the National Party leading with 31 percent support, allowing the current coalition to maintain a slim majority. Meanwhile, Labour's support has declined, and the Opportunity Party remains outside the governing coalition.

National's support has risen and the coalition is still in a position to form a government, but only by the slimmest margin, according to a new Taxpayers' Union Curia poll released on Friday.
The Opportunity Party is on 6.1 percent and would enter parliament based on this poll, but would form part of the opposition after National ruled out working with the party last week .
National is up 0.5 points to 31 percent - making it the most popular party in the poll - while Labour has dropped 3.7 points to 27.8 percent.
The Greens are down ever so slightly to 10.1 percent, while New Zealand First also dropped, down 1.7 points to 9.1 percent.
Act gained slightly to 7.3 percent while Te Pati Māori has recorded its worst result since March 2023 with just 1.5 percent - down 1.9 points.
