CMRS likely to inspect 7.5-km Pink Line elevated section from October 6 to 8

The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety is expected to inspect the 7.5-km elevated section of Bengaluru's Pink Line between October 6 and 8. Successful clearance will allow the BMRCL to prepare for the commencement of commercial passenger services.
Why it matters
The expansion of the metro network is critical for addressing urban mobility and traffic congestion in Bengaluru.
The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) is likely to conduct the statutory safety inspection of the 7.5-km elevated section of Bengaluru’s Pink Line metro between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere from October 6 to 8.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had submitted an application seeking the statutory inspection on September 18.
According to officials, V. Venkatasubramanian, Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety, Southern Circle, is likely to inspect the newly constructed Reach 6 elevated section, covering the stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere stations.
The multi-day inspection will assess whether the newly constructed section meets the safety requirements for commercial passenger operations. The inspection is expected to include the Operations Control Centre (OCC), following speed trials conducted on the stretch.
