Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President Manickam Tagore speaking to reporters after paying homage at the memorial of Tyagi Immanuel Sekaran here on Friday, said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will campaign across all 40 constituencies in the State to ensure Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister.
Reiterating the party’s stance, Mr. Tagore stated that the Congress considers Rahul Gandhi the prime ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc.
He added that the ruling State alliance functions as a secular social justice front in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, with Mr. Vijay leading the coalition.
Addressing the media during the event, Social Justice Minister Vanni Arasu announced that the government would soon enact a special law to prevent honour killings.
