CM Vijay to launch Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam in Madurai district on September 28

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will on September 28 launch in Madurai, the Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam, a welfare scheme under which a one-gram gold ring will be gifted by the State government to babies born in government hospitals.
The scheme, under which babies born since June 22, 2026, will be covered, was originally scheduled to be launched on September 15, the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai. It was postponed due to Mr. Vijay’s overseas trip to London.
An official release said, on Friday, Mr. Vijay chaired a review meeting with Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare K.G. Arunraj and officials regarding the launch of the scheme at the Secretariat in Chennai.
