CM to hear people from areas affected by Kasturirangan committee report on Sept. 18, 19
Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is set to hold public meetings to discuss the impact of the Kasturirangan Committee report on local communities. The report, which concerns ecological conservation, remains a point of contention between the state and union governments.

Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who will be in Mangaluru to chair the Cabinet meeting on September 18, will hold public meetings in Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts on September 18 and 19 to hear from people in areas that could be affected by the Kasturirangan Committee report.
According to Mr. Shivakumar’s tour programme, he will chair a Cabinet meeting at the district office complex, Praja Soudha, from 10 a.m. on September 18. He will then proceed to Hebri in Udupi district by helicopter and hold a public meeting from 3 p.m. The same evening, the Chief Minister will return to Mangaluru for an overnight halt.
