CM N. Rangasamy to present Puducherry Budget on August 24
Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy is scheduled to present the Union Territory's annual budget on August 24, 2026. The announcement was made by Pro-tem Speaker A. Anbalagan, who also addressed questions regarding the upcoming election for the Speaker's post.

Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, who holds the Finance portfolio, will present the Union Territory’s annual Budget for 2026-27 on August 24, 2026, Pro-tem Speaker A. Anbalagan said on Friday (August 7, 2026).
Addressing a press conference in the UT to announce the convening of the second session of the 16 th Puducherry Legislative Assembly, the Pro-tem Speaker said the proceedings of the House will commence with the customary address of the Lieutenant Governor on August 24.
The Lt. Governor will deliver his address at around 9. 30 a.m. and on the same day, at around 3 p.m., the Budget will be presented by the Chief Minister, he said. The Business Advisory Committee will decide on the number of days the Assembly will be in session, as well as on the other proceedings in the House, he said.
