Cleaning drive at MLIRC in Belagavi

Officers, personnel and staff of the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) participated in a cleaning drive in the military cantonment area in Belagavi on Tuesday.

The Swachhata Andolan was undertaken across the Military Station and Cantonment areas. Around 750 participants, including uniformed personnel, their families, schoolchildren, civil employees, Cantonment residents and Safai Karmacharis, came together for a coordinated cleanliness drive covering around 15 km of road stretches adjoining 750 acres of the Cantonment.

The drive covered key locations across the Cantonment, including areas in and around the Military Hospital, schools, the Regimental Centre, the Junior Leaders Wing and other units and establishments. Around 100 kg of plastic waste was collected during the drive and disposed of at the Turmuri Trenching Grounds under arrangements made by the Belagavi Cantonment Board. The drive was aimed at reinforcing the collective commitment to a cleaner and healthier environment.
