Why it matters
Public health awareness regarding air pollution is vital for managing respiratory diseases in regions prone to environmental hazards.
Jakarta, IO – To commemorate its 53rd Anniversary, the Indonesian Society of Respirology (PDPI) held a webinar on Tuesday (8/9/2026), with the theme “Clean Air, Healthy Lungs, Strong Indonesia.” During this event, dr. Susanty Djajalaksana, Sp.P(K), from PDPI, emphasized how our lungs are directly connected to the air we breathe every day.
“Every Indonesian has an equal opportunity to breathe healthily. Environmental issues are ultimately health issues, because everyone has the right to clean air. Ensuring access to clean and healthy air must be a top priority, especially during times of forest and land fires and volcanic ash eruptions,” she stated.
