The Amrutahalli police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly assaulted a civic marshal of the Bengaluru North City Corporation for questioning him about throwing garbage on a public road.
The incident reportedly took place on Sunday morning near Amruthahalli Lake, where marshal Venkatesh R., a resident of Snehanagar and posted in the Byatarayanapura Ward, was on duty.
According to the complaint, Mr. Venkatesh noticed Vijay Kumar, a resident of Amruthanagar, throwing garbage on the road. When Mr. Venkatesh questioned him about littering in a public place, Vijay Kumar allegedly became angry, abused him and slapped him. The accused also allegedly tore Mr. Venkatesh’s uniform and obstructed him from carrying out his official duties.
