City lags behind in SIR enumeration process despite extension of deadline
The enumeration process for the State Integrated Registry (SIR) is progressing slowly in Hyderabad and surrounding districts, prompting officials to urge voters to submit their forms. Election authorities have clarified that the exercise is not linked to welfare scheme eligibility to encourage participation.

Threats of removal of names from electoral rolls notwithstanding, collection of filled in enumeration forms is progressing at snail’s pace in the State capital, with a large number of forms distributed not coming back to the Booth Level Officers.
Of the four districts constituting the Core Urban Region, Medchal Malkajgiri lags behind the rest, with only 42.31% forms digitised so far. Hyderabad registered 43.85%, while Rangareddy district fared slightly better at 52.97%. Sangareddy with very little urban area has recorded 70.32% digitisation of the forms.
All other districts have crossed at least 70% in terms of digitisation of forms, with the highest of 90.33% achieved by Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. Due to the abysmal figures in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri districts, the average of digitisation has been dragged down to 68.29%.
