Cinema at the edge of Ireland - Disappear Here returns to Donegal

The Disappear Here Film Festival is returning to Donegal, Ireland, for its annual event in October. The festival aims to showcase independent films to local audiences while providing workshops and networking opportunities for emerging filmmakers.
Why it matters
It highlights the growth of regional film culture and the increasing importance of Ireland as a global filming location.
Set between the mountains and the Atlantic on Donegal's wild Inishowen Peninsula, Disappear Here is a film festival with a difference… Founder and Festival Director Michael McLaughlin tells more ahead of this year's installment, which runs from October 16th - 18th.
When I started Disappear Here Film Festival in Ballyliffin in 2017, the idea was to bring films to the north-west that people here might never otherwise get the chance to see.
I also wanted filmmakers to experience Donegal as more than a location on a screen, but as a place where their work could find an audience and start a conversation.
