Christchurch has been named among the world’s top 10 trending travel destinations for 2027, the only New Zealand city to make the list.
The Garden City features alongside international destinations including Monterey in California, Sendai in Japan, Reims in France and Pescara in Italy in Booking.com’s latest Travel Predictions report.
The report identifies destinations attracting growing interest from travellers, while highlighting emerging trends expected to shape international tourism next year.
Booking.com regional manager for Oceania and Korea Todd Lacey welcomed Christchurch’s inclusion, pointing to the city’s transformation since the Canterbury earthquakes.
“I’m proud to see our very own Ōtautahi Christchurch recognised among the world’s Top 10 Trending Destinations for 2027,” Lacey said.
