The airline began serving New Zealand in 1976 with twice-weekly services to Auckland via Sydney.

Four decades later, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has carried more than 2.3 million customers on over 10,000 flights between Singapore and Christchurch.
This key route has grown to include daily services, newer-generation aircraft and an expanded range of cabin products.
