For years, Cottonland Castle stood as one of Waco's most intriguing landmarks, an imposing historic home that had plenty of character but needed someone willing to take on the work. In 2019, that someone was Chip and Joanna Gaines. After years spent restoring and reimagining the property, the famous Waco couple's castle has now found a buyer, states an online report by PEOPLE. The Historic Waco Castle, also known as Cottonland Castle, went pending on Sept. 18 after being listed for $2.7 million in June. The eventual sale price has not been disclosed. The Gaineses had previously explored selling the property through an auction in 2023, adds the online report.A 135-year-old Waco landmarkAs per PEOPLE, the castle dates back roughly 135 years and occupies 6,176 square feet.
