A total of 15,437 students from LKG to Plus Two took part in the 28th annual Gita chanting competition conducted by the Chinmaya Mission in Madurai.

The finals, which was held at the Madura College on Sunday, witnessed a good turnout of students, who recited the Gita with precision and clarity, according to the judges.

Chinmaya Mission Madurai has been continuing its sustained endeavour to take the message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita to school children at a young age, in keeping with the vision of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda.

This year, children from various schools participated in the preliminary-level competition from which, 653 among them were selected for the finals, which was held for two days - October 3 and 4 covering various categories.
