China women shuttlers are queens of Asia again after 12-year wait

PETALING JAYA: China’s women shuttlers regained their supremacy in the team event by defeating Japan 3-0 to win the Asian Games gold at the Ichinomiya City Municipal Gymnasium on Thursday (Sept 24)

The team led by world No. 2 Wang Zhiyi showed they are back where they belong by lifting their 11th Asian Games women’s team crown.

They last won at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.Japan (2018 Jakarta-Palembang) and South Korea (2022 Hangzhou) won at the last two editions respectively.
