The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has registered a suo motu case in connection with an incident in which a student was made to apologise during a school assembly at Valamangalam Higher Secondary School in Cherthala.
The case was registered based on a video of the incident that has been circulating on social media.
The commission has sought reports from the Regional Deputy Director of Education in Chengannur, the District Child Protection Officer, and the school principal, a press note stated.
