Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launches cashless medical facility for Delhi Jal Board pensioners

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has introduced a cashless medical facility for over 50,000 Delhi Jal Board pensioners. This initiative aims to remove the financial burden of upfront payments and simplify the reimbursement process for elderly retirees.
Why it matters
The policy change directly impacts the welfare and healthcare accessibility of a large group of retired public sector employees.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday launched a cashless medical facility for over 50,000 Delhi Jal Board (DJB) pensioners and their family members.
Under the new system, beneficiaries can avail themselves of cashless emergency, planned and non-emergency treatment, as well as medical tests, at empanelled hospitals, the Chief Minister’s Office stated in a post on X.
Earlier, pensioners seeking treatment had to pay medical expenses upfront and subsequently apply for reimbursement, a process that Ms. Gupta said was particularly cumbersome for elderly beneficiaries.
