Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that spirituality was the most effective remedy for reducing stress in today’s fast-paced life, and described temples as institutions that fostered peace and harmony in society.
Addressing an impressive gathering after inaugurating the Jagannath Rath Yatra at Venkatapalem in Amaravati, Mr. Naidu observed that human relationships were weakening and the negative influence of social media increasing, and noted that this contributed to disturbing incidents such as suicides in families and crimes against children.
“Spirituality offers the path to mental peace and emotional well-being,” he asserted.
Mr. Naidu said the government was getting 5,000 Sri Venkateswara temples built across the State to strengthen spiritual values and promote social harmony, and emphasised the importance of restoring India’s tradition of joint families, rather than encouraging micro families.
