Cheyutha pension application deadline extended till September 15, applications cross 4.8 lakh
The Telangana government has extended the application deadline for the Cheyutha social security pension scheme to September 15. The extension follows requests from disability advocates and challenges faced by applicants during electoral roll revisions.

The State government has extended the deadline for submitting applications under the Cheyutha social security pension scheme by 15 days, allowing eligible beneficiaries to apply until September 15.
The decision was taken on the directions of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka following representations from persons with disabilities (PwD) and reports that many eligible applicants, particularly in Hyderabad, were unable to complete the process due to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Acting on the Minister’s directions, the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) issued orders extending the application window to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of the scheme.
The extension comes amid a strong response to the pension programme. According to the Cheyutha new applications report as of August 31, a total of 4,81,662 applications have been received across the State.
