The Greater Chennai City Traffic Police seized five high-end motorbikes which were involved in racing near Arumbakkam on Saturday (August 29, 2026) night.

A senior traffic police official said a person named Kumar was traveling on a two-wheeler with his wife and one-year-old child towards Koyambedu along the 100-feet road near Arumbakkam.

At that moment, a speeding bike that came from behind grazed his vehicle in which Kumar lost balance and fell down along with his wife and child resulting in minor injuries. Immediately, the local residents alerted the traffic control room.

Based on the alert, the Koyambedu traffic police along with Choolaimedu patrol police, conducted vehicle checks on Sunday (August 30) and intercepted five two-wheelers involved in speeding. The police, during investigation, found them to be the individuals who were involved in racing and caused the accident.
