KAMPALA, Uganda — Political analyst Charles Rwomushana was taken away by armed men shortly after appearing on a Radio Simba programme in Kampala on Saturday morning, according to video footage and accounts circulating online.
Footage shows Rwomushana, wearing a red shirt, being escorted from the station by men described as security operatives.
The circumstances surrounding his removal remain unclear.
It was not immediately clear whether he had been formally arrested, taken for questioning or detained as part of another security operation.
Police had not publicly confirmed his arrest or disclosed his whereabouts by the time of publication.
