Chalakudy edges ahead as Thrissur school sports meet heats up

The battle for trophy intensified at the Thrissur Revenue District School Sports Meet, with Chalakudy sub-district taking a slender one-point lead over Thrissur East at the end of the second day of competition.
Chalakudy topped the standings with 93 points, collecting 25 medals — eight gold, nine silver and eight bronze — after a day of intense action on the track and field.
Thrissur East remained close behind with 92 points. Its athletes have won 23 medals, including nine gold, seven silver and seven bronze, keeping the contest wide open as the meet enters its crucial stages.
The hosts, Kunnamkulam sub-district, occupied third place with 63 points. They have so far secured 17 medals — seven gold, four silver and six bronze.
Valappad was in fourth place with 52 points, followed by Thrissur West with 45.
